Warren shook off a disappointing loss last week with a blowout win over Lake Village to conclude its regular season with a 49-6 win at Jim E. Hurley Jr. Stadium on Thursday.
Hayden Smith completed all seven of his pass attempts for 107 yards and three touchdowns in a little more than a quarter of playing time. He connected on scoring throws with Raheim Alford, Allen Tatum and Chase Ashcraft as the Lumberjacks put the finishing touches on an 8-4A Conference Championship.
Warren (6-4, 6-1) scored first when it completed a 57-yard drive in seven plays that ended with a 12-yard sprint from Ricardo Walls. On the next drive, a bad snap on a punt attempt rolled into the end zone and Warren’s Stephon Hampton recovered to give Warren a 14-0 lead. That was extended to 21-0 when Ashcraft caught a 10-yard pass from Smith to end a 63-yard drive in six plays to finish off the first quarter.
Tatum then returned a punt 57 yards to make it 28-0 and Smith found Alford open from 13 yards out, followed by a Tatum 36-yard catch that gave the Lumberjacks a 42-0 lead at halftime.
Antonio Harding returned the opening kickoff of the third quarter 80 yards to make it 49-0 and Lake Village scored its only touchdown late in the third quarter on a Vincent King run.
Jacorrious White completed 4 of 11 passes for 34 yards and gained 34 yards on nine carries for the Beavers (2-7, 0-7).
Warren earned the No. 1 seed from the 8-4A Conference and will host the No. 5 seed from the 2-4A Conference, which will likely be Clinton, next week.
