BENJAMIN HILL

Funeral services for Benjamin (Bennie) Freeman Hill Jr., 64, of Pine Bluff who died Oct. 30 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., St. Paul MBC, Rev. Steven King pastor, Rev. Kerry Price officiating.

He was born in Pine Bluff on Dec. 28, 1944, to the late Davenia F. and Benjamin Hill Sr.
He attended St. Peter’s Catholic School, graduated from Southeast High School, and also attended A.M.&N. College (now UAPB).
He joined St. Paul MBC at an early age.
He also was an Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Vietnam era.
He also retired from United Parcel Services after 28 years of employment.
He loved music, especially jazz, and played both the violin and drums.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Fern R. Ricci; maternal grandparents, Josephine and Dave Freeman; aunt, Katye F. Jackson.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Gloria M. Hill of Pine Bluff; two daughters, Bionne Hill, Brittani Hill, both of Pine Bluff; brother, Herman Mitchel, Pine Bluff; two sisters, Twylla Jackson, Los Angeles, Calif., Lita A. Johnson of Paramont, Calif.; uncle, Fredrick (Cora) Freeman of Champaign, Ill.; three brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitations may be made Friday, 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The remains will lie in state at the church, Saturday, 9 a.m. until funeral time.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery Veteran section by Perry Funeral Home.
