Kenny Baim placed first in the district speech contest here recently. Barton Fruhman and Kay Bonhert placed second and third, respectively.
Pine Bluff’s Junior Chamber of Commerce is in charge of the judging of the tape-recorded speeches. They choose a panel of Pine Bluff citizens to judge the speeches.
As winner, Kenny’s speech will be sent to the state contest.
And November 25, Kenny, Barton and Kay will give their speeches for the Jaycees.
Ted Drake, a 16-year-old PBHS senior, was elected by acclamation as the Citizen of the Week of November 11-15.
Ted is a member of the National Honor Society and is business manager of the annual staff. He also holds the job of raising the sportsmanship flag at every home game and is on the talent show committee this year.
Ted ranks high in his scholastic record. He plans to attend the University of Arkansas after graduation to study engineering.
Congratulations, Ted!
