Alfred Warriner

Alfred I. Warriner, 91, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Trinity Village Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 22, 1917, in Pine Bluff, son of Charles G. Warriner Sr. and Selina Illing Warriner.
Mr. Warriner was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School.
He was a self-employed contractor working in the asphalt materials business.
Mr. Warriner was a lifetime member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served as a Vestry member and Jr. Warden. He was a lifetime member of the Pine Bluff Optimist Club, where he was named Key Man of the Year, and president of Arkansas Package Store Association.
He had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, traveling and cooking. Mr. Warriner loved to cook for the Trinity School Chili Supper and First Methodist Prayer Breakfast.
Mr. Warriner was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Watkins Warriner, whom he married Jan. 24, 1941, in Pine Bluff; his parents; two brothers, John Warriner and Charles G. Warriner; and sister, Bonne McGaughy.
Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Hughes and her husband, Milton of Pine Bluff; four sons, Charles Alfred Warriner and his wife, Diane of White Hall, Tommy Warriner and his wife, Cindy of Crestview, Fla., Donald Warriner and his wife, Sherry of White Hall and Ted Warriner and his wife, Leigh Ann of Conway; brother, Richard Warriner Sr. of Pine Bluff; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Dr. Walter Van Zandt Windsor officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time in the Parish Hall at Trinity Episcopal Church.
