CATHERINE HICKS

REDFIELD — Mary Catherine Lea Hicks, age 88, of Redfield, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009.

She was born Dec. 17, 1920 at Princeton (Dallas County), Arkansas, the daughter of the late Willis Lea and Myra Dedman Lea.

She was one of the first female butchers in this area, and worked for Kroger for a number of years.

Catherine married Howell Burton Hicks on April 28, 1963 in Pine Bluff. Mr. Hicks predeceased her on Feb. 26, 2009.

Survivors include two sons, Kennon Hicks and Keith Hicks and wife Melinda; one grandchild, Jessica Marie Hicks, all of Redfield; and her caregiver and special friend, Linda Patterson of Greenbrier.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services of Pine Bluff.

Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
