RELIS EASTMAN

Relis E. Eastman, 82, a resident of Pine Bluff, passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at his home.

Born Aug. 15, 1927, in Montezuma, Kan., he was a son of the late Merle and Etta Edwards Eastman.

He was reared and received his early education in Cimarron and Haviland, Kan., graduating from Haviland High School.

Mr. Eastman moved to Pine Bluff in 1959, where he married Emma Hogan in June of 1959. He was a fork lift operator for Viking Bags for 31 years, until his retirement in 1993.

He was a member of Oak Park Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a board member and an usher.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Eastman.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Emma Eastman of Pine Bluff; two children, Craig D. Eastman of Pine Bluff and Donna K. Bryant of Owassa, Okla.; two grandchildren, Kaylee and Connor Bryant; brother Harold Eastman of Valley Center, Kan.; and four sisters, Wanda Brisendine and Betty Cross, both of La Junta, Colo., Kathy Ledbetter, of Hamlin, Texas, and Waneta Wilson of Pueblo, Colo.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Oct. 30, 2009, at Robinson’s.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Rev. Clinton Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
