Louise Stringer
Louise Simpson Stringer, age 77, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock.
Mrs. Stringer was born June 9, 1931, in Brewer, Ark. She was the daughter of the late Fred Simpson (father) and Marie and Harold Pfleger (mother and stepfather).
Mrs. Stringer was reared and received her education in Stuttgart, graduating from Stuttgart High School.
She had been a resident of Pine Bluff since 1963. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society in Pine Bluff. She was a self-employed hairdresser until her retirement in 1989.
Mrs. Stringer was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Edward Stringer, whom she married Aug. 18, 1950; and a brother, Thomas Irvin Simpson.
She is survived by four sons, Bill Stringer of Rogers, Bob and Don Stringer, both of Pine Bluff, and Brad Stringer of Monticello; five grandchildren; brother, Hershel Simpson of Stuttgart, one half sister, Shirley Pfleger; and one half brother, Bernie Pfleger.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 21, 2008, at 11 a.m. Graveside in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Stuttgart by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Monsignor John Janesko officiating.
A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday evening at Robinson’s in Pine Bluff. Visitation will follow.

Truelove Black
GOULD — Truelove Black, 90, of Gould died Tuesday.
She was born May 15, 1918, at Oakwood Bayou, a daughter of the late James Lewis and Amelia Lewis.
Survivors include two sons, Jessie Black and Churchie Black Jr.; three daughters, Gracie Evans, Hattie Brown and Bobbie Parks; and one brother, Otha Lewis.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church at Gould. Burial will be in Union Cemetery by Serenity Gardens Funeral Services at Dumas.
Boyce Baker
INGALLS — Boyce Walton Baker, 74, of Ingalls died Thursday at home.
He was born March 22, 1934, at Warren, a son of the late Thomas Boyce Baker and Edna Mae Upshaw Baker.
Survivors include his wife, Katrina Rodgers; one son, Daniel Kerwin Baker; three daughters, Roberta Ann Bielitz, Celia Lou Mears and Virginia Kaye Gaddis; one sister, Lynell Childress Matthews; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Frazer’s Funeral Home of Warren. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Diane Crouse
SHERIDAN — Diane Wilson Crouse of Sheridan, Ark., was born Feb. 16,1950, in Pine Bluff, the daughter of the late L.C. “Bully” Wilson Jr. and Vada Belle Williams Wilson. She was co-owner of Crouse Logging and Truck Parts and was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Crouse died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 58.
Survivors: husband, Roy W. "Buddy" Crouse of Sheridan; son, Dean Crouse and wife Susanne of Sheridan; brother, Phil Wilson of Sheridan; sister, Becky and husband Steve Crook of Sheridan; mother-in-law, Opal Puckett Crouse of Sheridan; granddaughter, Liberty Crouse.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 20, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Hill officiating.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Patricia Ray
WHITE HALL — Patricia Ann Ray, 65, of White Hall, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 31, 1942 in Hampton, Ark., daughter of Louise Clarkston Legion and the late Hershell Legion.
Mrs. Ray was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School.
She worked for Kroger’s for many years before becoming co-owner and operator of Sandy Acres Grocery.
Mrs. Ray was a member of First Baptist Church of White Hall.
She was preceded in death by her father and son, Russell Wayne “Rusty” Ray.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip Wayne Ray, whom she married April 21, 1959, in Rison; son, Scott Ray of White Hall; mother, Louise Clarkston Legion of White Hall; two sisters, Brenda Waters of Baton Rouge, La., and Candy Byrd of Mountain Home, Ark.; brother, Mike Legion of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and a grandson, Tanner Ray of White Hall.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. today, July 19, 2008, in the chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Dr. Bob Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
