DEATHS FOR FRIDAY, JULY 18, 2008

Tommy Carr

Mr. Tommy Roy Carr, 57, of Pine Bluff died Sunday, July 13, 2008.

He was born in Pine Bluff to the late Ethel and Andrew Carr II.

His survivors include brothers, Andrew III, Morris, Frank and Paul Carr, all of Pine Bluff, Clarence Carr of Altadena, Patterson Carr of Maumelle, Eddie Carr of Memphis and Selwyn Carr of Los Angeles; sisters, Jessie Carr of Memphis and Revela Baker of Chicago.

His service is Saturday, July 19, 2008, at William Dove Sr. Memorial Chapel in Brown Funeral Home by Rev. Marshall Savage at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Forrest Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-7:30 at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

The family will be at 1505 W. 16th St., Pine Bluff, Ark.

Dawayne Powell

Funeral services for Dawayne Powell, 28, of Pine Bluff died July 12 at JRMC will be Saturday, 11 a.m. Family Time Church, Rev. Michael Williams officiating.

He was born Oct. 22, 1979, in DeWitt, son of Roy Powell Sr., Altheimer, Mary L. Buckner, Pine Bluff.

He received his education at the Altheimer High School.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael P. Powell; grandfathers, Square Buckner, Johnny Bush.

Other survivors: one daughter, Alicia T. Powell, Pine Bluff; stepmother, Cynthia Powell, Altheimer; eight brothers, Gregory (Veronica) Powell, Darrell Powell, George Powell, all of Pine Bluff, David Powell, Stuttgart, Kendya Powell, Pine Bluff, Roy Powell Jr., Atlanta, Ga., Glen R. Powell, Atlanta, Ga., Fonda Luster, Altheimer; two sisters, Lynette (Sam) Jackson, Little Rock, Cindy Sanford, Pine Bluff.

Visitations may be made today 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial: Miller Memorial Cemetery by Perry Funeral Home.

Family will be at 817 W. 19th St.

Prestley Proctor Jr.

Prestley Proctor Jr., 55, of Pine Bluff died Sunday.

He was born at Pine Bluff to the late Carrie and Prestley Proctor Sr.

Survivors: one daughter, Christy Jones; three sisters, Bonnie Carter and Veronica Proctor, both of Pine Bluff, and Georgia Edwards of Milwaukee; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church with Elder Julius Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Grove section of Graceland Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at 2810 W. 30th Ave.

Mary Tucker

Mary Edna Dandridge Tucker, 65, of 24 C Cottonwood, died July 15, 2008, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 20, 1942, in Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Dandridge and Mildred Cook Dandridge.

She was a private caretaker.

She was a member of Lampkin Chapel Baptist Church, serving as an usher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Tucker Jr.

Survivors include three daughters, Renita Dandridge Rice of Long Beach, Tina Dandridge Collins and Cathlean Tucker Kemp, both of Pine Bluff; two sons, Kenneth Dandridge of Nebraska and Dietrich Garner of Pine Bluff; four sisters, Shirley Brown of St. Louis, Joyce Washington and Peggy Cobbs of Dallas and Denise Archie of Pine Bluff; one brother, Eddie Dandridge of Detroit; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lampkin Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Shelton officiating. Burial will be at Forrest Lawn Cemetery by P.K. Miller Mortuary.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The body will lie in repose at the church from 1 p.m. to service time Saturday.

The family will be at the home of Denise Archie, 1106 S. Peach St., Pine Bluff.

Evaliner Everett

GOULD — Mrs. Evaliner Smith Everett, 79, of Gould died Saturday, July 12, 2008.

She was born in Texarkana, Ark., to the late James Smith and Maggie Hollman.

Her survivors include sons, James, John, Foster and Howard Everett, all of Gould, Wydell and David Everett; daughters, Jessie Nichols, Clara Harper, Diane Daniels and Curtistean Everett, all of Pine Bluff, Hazel Pruitt and Linda Silva of Gould, Verlean Macon of Toledo, Ohio, Annette and Elnora Everett of Hot Springs; sisters, Gracie Scott and Ardary Smith of Gould; 64 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Her services will be Saturday, July 19, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Gould by Rev. Jimmy Bynum at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Jericho Cemetery in Gould.

The wake will be from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

The family will be at 903 W. 14th Ave., Pine Bluff, Ark.

Cynthia Hartwick

REDFIELD — Cynthia Ann James Hartwick, 49, of Redfield died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at her home.

She was born Aug. 2, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas to Jesse James Sr. of Scott, Ark., and to the late Virginia Henson James.

She was a graduate of Sylvan Hills School and a member of Redfield Missionary Baptist Church. She worked at NCTR as a budget analyst.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Arnold of Redfield; three sons, Michael Hartwick of Redfield, Travis and Zachary Arnold, both of Mayflower; her father and stepmother, Jesse and Katie James of Scott; two brothers, Jesse James Jr. of Sherwood and Tony James of Little Rock; two stepbrothers, Vaudie McAfee and Randy Vanderford, both of McRae, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at Redfield Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. John Mooney officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. today at Rest Hills Memorial Park Cemetery (Sherwood) by Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The family will be at their home in Redfield.

Anne Beisel

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Anne Ferguson Beisel, 76, formerly of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at St. Mary’s Warrick Hospital.

She was born Oct. 2, 1931, in Pine Bluff, Ark.

She attended Mary Baldwin College and graduated from the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

Anne was a member of DAR, Junior League of Evansville, Vanderburgh Medical Alliance, the Kennel Club, Rolling Hills Country Club, and Christian Fellowship Church.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and playing bridge.

Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Larry H. Beisel in 2001.

She is survived by her son, Larry H. Beisel Jr. and wife, Patty, of Newburgh, Ind.; daughter, Margaret Thielepape, and husband, Bill, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Chad and Matt Thielepape, and David and Kelly Beisel.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Woodmont Health Campus and to Henrietta Happe for their care and companionship.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Joel Thielepape and Rev. Spencer Downs with entombment at Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlene Jordan

WALDRON, Ind. — Charlene Crutchfield Jordan, 63, of Waldron, Ind., passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Waldron Health Care.

She was born April 19, 1945, in Cornerville, Ark., the daughter of the late Lester Ray Crutchfield and Elva Boyd Crutchfield.

She was the widow of James A. Jordan, an emergency room secretary at a hospital, and a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one sister, Varniece Jackson.

Survivors include one son, David Jordan and wife, Nicki of Flat Rock, Ind.; one daughter, Judith Crafton and husband, David of Shelbyville, Ind.; two brothers, Rev. Arnold Leon Crutchfield and wife, Carolyn of Brinkley, Ark., and Dale Crutchfield and wife, Billie of Holts Summitt, Mo.; two sisters, Linda Green and husband, Randall of El Dorado, Ark., and Carolyn Hughes of Cornerville, Ark.; three grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Cornerville Baptist Church. Burial in Rock Springs Cemetery. Local arrangements by Stephenson-Dearman.

Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Gary Shinall

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Gary G. Shinall, 65, of The Woodlands, Texas died Wednesday.

He was a son of Lois Shinall Bailey and the late Doyle Shinall.

Other survivors include his wife of 39 years, Barbara Shinall; son, Alex Shinall; daughter, Karla Macik; brothers, Brent Shinall and Lance Shinall; sister, Lana Shinall; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Klein Funeral Home at Magnolia, Texas.

Memorials may be made to Montgomery County Child Protection Services or the A.L.S. Foundation.

Eddie Mae Burnett of Pine Bluff died Thursday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced by P.K. Miller Mortuary.

WHITE HALL — Patricia Ann Ray, 65, of White Hall died Thursday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center at Pine Bluff. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors at Pine Bluff.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

LITTLE ROCK — Bobbie Whaley, 62, of Little Rock, died Thursday. Arrangements will be announced by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
