Relyance Crown Club tours Savannah

Historic Savannah, the “Belle of Georgia” and the Golden Isles of Georgia were the destination recently for 48 members and guests of the Relyance Bank Crown Club. A lunch stop at Jason’s Deli was a treat on their first day of travel to Birmingham, Alabama.


Jeneice Jolley and Lance Jolley gave birth to a baby boy, Lance Adam Jolley Jr., on Nov. 8. He weighed 6 pounds and 10 ounces. His grandparents are Karen and Carlton Dickson of Pine Bluff; Lemuel and Lucinda Jolley of Pine Bluff; James Kinlaw of Manassass, Virginia; and Linda K. Jolley Knight of Pine Bluff.

Agency holds flu clinic

The Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Arkansas provides flu shots at the Pine Bluff VFW Post 4455 to veterans and their families. During the event Oct. 8, the nursing staff also gave blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol screenings. This was a way to say thank you to local veterans for their service to the country. Playing American Mahjong

From left, Sam Short and Marzell McKinzie play American Mahjong with instructor Gladys Cherry at the Strachota Senior Center. Cherry is teaching the game at 10 a.m. Tuesdays at the center. They also play at 10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. ‘This is so good to help keep your memory sharp as well as being a lot of fun,’ a spokesman said. WC academic team wins awards

The Watson Chapel Academic Competition Team recently competed in the Atkins Red Devil Invitational. Watson Chapel’s ninth-grade A team won the junior high division. Members of the winning team are Adarius Lee, Gerrod White, Morgan Edwards, Benjimen Neal and Maria Porter.
