Guachoya features artists

Jeanetta Darley’s work on corn is among exhibits at the Guachoya Cultural Art Center at Lake Village. Guachoya will host work by artists Kellee Mayfield and Darley in an exhibit in August. A reception honoring them will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4. The public is invited to attend this free event. The exhibit will be on display until Tuesday, Aug. 30. Centers celebrate pageant winners

The 2016 King James Davidson and Queen Vicki White, seated, are honored after winning the pageant of the Garden Pointe, The Gardens and Whispering Knoll assisted living facilities. Guests included, left standing, Miss University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Ashleigh Tate and Miss UAPB Alumni Janice Roberts. The pageant was held July 13. Willing Workers of White Hall’s Extension Homemakers Club met May 24 at White Hall Library. President Cheri Aronowitz welcomed everyone and asked Shiela Childers to read the Thought of the Month “Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.”

Watson Chapel Chamber Choir

Delta Kappa Gamma Society International hosts the Watson Chapel Chamber Choir which performed during a holiday party. The choir had a successful year under the direction of Angel Owen, a spokeswoman said.
