Lindsey Wright and Matthew Briscoe exchange vows at Marlsgate Plantation


Briscoe: Lindsey Claire Wright and Matthew Bradford Briscoe were united in marriage in a beautiful southern outdoor ceremony on April 26, 2014, at four o’clock in the afternoon at Marlsgate Plantation in Scott, Ark. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Jeff Price of Little Rock, Ark.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wright of Stonewall, La., formerly of Pine Bluff, Ark. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kerry Wright of Mansfield, La., and the late Robert and Claire Thomas of Pine Bluff, Ark. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brad Briscoe of Flora, Ill. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Briscoe, and Gerri McKnight and the late Robert McKnight, all of Flora, Ill.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an exquisite ivory lace ball gown by Allure Bridals. The strapless bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and satin waistband accented with a beaded and crystal floral applique. Gown featured a V back with covered buttons and rhinestone accents. It had a scalloped hem with a chapel train. The veil was a fingertip single tier of Illusion edged with beaded Alencon lace. The bride also wore a side comb of rhinestones and pearls.

The bride carried a European clustered bouquet of large cream Ecuadorian roses accented with sweet touches of white freesia and variegated Pittosporum greenery entwined with a handkerchief from her great grandmother.

Jamie Pettit served as maid of honor and Mrs. Sunni Cottrell served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lauren Brown, Katie Evans, Hannah Dorsey, Brittany Speake and Rachael Rickels. Honorary bridesmaids were Kaytlyn Kennedy and Ashleigh Westerman.

Rory O’Dell and Devin Dannells served as best men. Groomsmen were Ed Kennedy, Josh Brinkley, Jordan Haycock, Mitch Dillon and Tim Landwehr.

Serving as flower girls were Ellie Grace Low and Ariana Sisk. Ring bearer was Jack Andres.

Serving as ushers were Ben Cottrell, Levi Banker and Jon LaBerg. The scripture reading was given by Ron McKnight, uncle of the groom.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held on the beautiful grounds of Marlsgate Plantation. The reception was decorated with lush floral displays consisting of antique hydrangeas, green cymbidium orchids, soft lilac roses, Vendela roses and towering stalks of Bells of Ireland. The guest dined on a sumptuous array of food and cocktails. The beautiful five-tiered European wedding cake was almond flavored with a beaded buttercream icing adorned with fresh cascading flowers swirled around the cake. Entertainment for the evening was provided by Central Arkansas Entertainment of Little Rock, Ark. Photography was provided by Erin Moulden Photography of Frisco, Texas.

The bride is a graduate of White Hall High School in White Hall, Ark., and also a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, where she earned a bachelor of science in business administration finance. She was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.

The groom is a graduate of Flora High School in Flora, Ill., and also a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana in Champaign, Ill., where he earned a bachelor of science in agriculture and consumer economics with a concentration in agriculture markets and management. He is currently employed by Archer Daniels Midland Company.

The honeymoon began with rose petals as the newlyweds rolled away in style in a vintage Cadillac Lasalle. Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple will make their home in Terre Haute, Ind.
