Philbrook: Kristen Conner and Garet Philbrook were united in marriage in a beautiful outdoor southern ceremony on June 7, 2014 at five o’clock in the afternoon at Marlsgate Plantation in Scott, Ark.
The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Curtis White of White Hall. Mr. White is a teacher at White Hall High School and was a favorite of the couple.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Conner of White Hall, Ark. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mildred Gandy and the late William Gandy of White Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Buford Conner of McGehee, Ark.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Philbrook of Pine Bluff, formerly of White Hall, Ark. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Philbrook of Vancleave, Miss., and Ms. Teri Reynolds of Pascagoula, Miss., and Mr. and Mrs. John Mizelle of Vancleave, Miss.
As guests arrived to the garden and front lawn, they were serenaded by the Jarboe String Quartet. The bride and her father arrived in a horse-drawn carriage. They made their way up the front walk to the music of “All I ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an exquisite white satin ball gown and coordinating veil by Eve of Milady. The gown featured a sweetheart neckline and low-scooped back. The satin bodice was adorned with Swarovski crystals, seed pears and embroidery. The embroidery, Swarovski crystals and seed pearls enhanced the back of the dress and continued down the length of the cathedral train. The bride wore a veil edged in Swarovski crystals and the same embroidery as the dress and fell to a full cathedral length.
The bride carried a bouquet of white roses and white orchids. The bouquet was finished with a classic white ribbon. The bride’s jewelry was a diamond, pearl and platinum cross necklace, purchased for the bride when she was 3 and kept in safe keeping until her engagement by her maternal grandparents.
The maid of honor was Cherri Patterson of Cordova, Tenn. Helean Van of White Hall was the bridesmaid. Both wore Malibu blue full-length satin empire gowns with illusion halter. They carried hand-tied bouquets of green hydrangea and peach Donna roses.
Nick Partridge of Conway was the best man. Josh Phillips was the groomsman.
Ushers were Keith Conner, brother of the bride, and Blane Philbrook, brother of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held on the beautiful grounds of Marlsgate Plantation. The guests dined on a buffet featuring a large elevated floral arrangement of roses, Bell of Ireland and green hydrangeas.
Guests were entertained by Billy Coble as DJ and MC. Billy was the DJ as the couple’s senior prom.
The bride’s reception dress was a white satin dress with beaded Alencon lace and Swarovski crystals bodice. The gown featured covered buttons down the back.
After a honeymoon in Destin, Fla., the couple will reside in Redfield.
