Westerman to address Coffee with the Chiefs

Fourth District Congressman Bruce Westerman, R-Hot Springs, will be the speaker for Coffee with the Chiefs, sponsored by Interested Citizens for Voter Registration Inc. The event will be held from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, at the Pine Bluff Country Club.

Nettye Johnson to sign book, make presentation

Nettye Johnson — a certified health coach, Christian educator and professional speaker — will sign her book, “Put Your Faith Where Your Fork Is,” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Ephesus Christian Bookstore & Heritage Fashions Boutique, 901 W. Sixth Ave.

Correction

Friday’s lunch menu for the Strachota Senior Center was incorrect in Sunday’s edition. The menu will be turkey breast and Swiss cheese with two slices of bread, potato chips, peach half with cottage cheese, oatmeal cookie and milk.

McAlmont Chapter DAR presents scholarship

The Pine Bluff-John McAlmont Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution met recently at the Pine Bluff Country Club. Regent Sandra Poore opened the meeting with the DAR Ritual assisted by Chaplain Kar Lynn Roberts. Norma Caldwell led the Pledge to the American Flag and the American’s Creed was led by Sue Smith. The Singing of the National Anthem was led by Melissa Poe, and Linda Schultz led the Salute to the Arkansas Flag.
