UAPB Vesper Choir to present spring concert


The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Vesper Choir will present its annual spring concert at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts Building.

In addition to the Vesper Choir, several student soloists will be featured. Student soloists will include Phyllissa Dunk and Naocea Evans, sopranos and senior music majors; Robin Roberts, junior mezzo-soprano music major; Gregory Walker, freshman music major; Echol Simpson, graduating senior majoring in music — SRT; Lauren Stewart, graduating senior majoring in mass communication; Steven Howard, a senior majoring in computer science; and Daniel Farmer, a senior majoring in mass communication.

The concert will feature classical selections, spirituals, gospel selections and a Motown Medley. Jerron Liddell, choral director at Dollarway High School, will be the guest conductor.

The concert is free and the public is cordially invited to attend. Michael J. Bates is the Vesper Choir director and he is assisted by Andee Book, assistant director and instructor in voice.
