Sigma Nu Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha installs officers

Sigma Nu Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha recently met in the home of Maria Neff for the installation of officers for 2014-2015.

Patty Membrey installed Barbara Taylor as president, Kathey Wooley as vice president, Wanda Waring as secretary, Avis Hood as treasurer and Sandra Malone as educational director. Membry, outgoing president, raised the gavel on Taylor’s jewel pin.

Potato, chili and vegetable soups, salads and desserts were served by members of the executive board, who were hostesses for the event. Others attending were Donna Brown, Katie Taylor, Candy Brown and Bobbie Joyce.

Barbara Taylor announced her theme for the year as “Diamonds in Sigma Nu”. Committees appointed were:

• Malone — awards, disaster Chairman and jonquil Chairman

• Membrey — chaplain and social chairman

• Joyce — ways and means, publicity and contact chairman

• Hood — historian

• Donna Brown — yearbook, philanthropic and St. Jude coordinator

• Waring — needy families and ways and means

• Katie Taylor — needy families, ways and means and social

• Candy Brown — social and publicity

• Wooley — St. Jude

Fundraising plans for a Tupperware party were discussed. To place an order contact any of the members.

Several members planned to attend the State convention to be held in Hot Springs. Delegates were Barbara Taylor, Wooley and Waring.

Hood reported than donations had been sent to St. Jude Hospital, Easter Seals and the disaster fund.
