The sisters of Alpha Chi Sigma Graduate Chapter and the Alpha Chi Undergraduate Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. recently celebrated 91 years of “Greater Service, Greater Progress” during their Founders Week observance.
The morning of the event kicked off with an inspiring service at Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. After morning service, the celebration continued with a luncheon and memorial service honoring the seven educators who founded the organization.
“Our founders set the foundation for sisterhood, scholarship and service in our community,” a spokesman said.
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority was founded at Butler University at Indianapolis, Ind., on Nov. 12, 1922.
