Second Mediterranean Cooking class set at Extension Office


The second in a series of Mediterranean Cooking classes will be held Tuesday, June 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jefferson County Extension Office, 500 S. Idaho St.

The University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture Jefferson County Extension Service, South Central Center on Aging, and Graphic Packaging are providing the free classes for participants to learn to cook delicious and healthy Mediterranean dishes. The hands-on cooking classes feature recipes from Italy, Spain, France, Morocco, Greece, Lebanon and Egypt, using ingredients you can find in most supermarkets or super centers in Arkansas.

The guest speaker will be Donna Taylor, a registered nurse and coordinator for Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Program. Taylor will provide useful information for those currently caregiving, will be caregivers in the future, or know someone who is currently a caregiver.
