Pine Bluff Branch NAUW holds induction ceremony


The Pine Bluff Branch of the National Association of University Women recently held its Winter Membership Drive.

The new members induction ceremony was led by national second vice president, Bettye Williams. Other branch members participating in the ceremony were Mary Liddell, president; Mary Brentley, vice president; Birlee Lever, Arlene Woody and Amanda Wells.

New members are Kelly Bryant, Elfreda Boyd, Tadzia Cooley, Felicia Cooper, Loretta Davis, Maxine Doolittle, Victoria Ford, Rolanda Haynes, Cartina Horn-Stevenson, Shayla Moore, Erin Pilcher, Dora Sergeant, Tyranetta Tyler-Johnson, Carolyn Williams and Kimberly Williams.

Reclaim members were Margaret Owens Boyd and Linda Brunson.

Each new member was presented with a white carnation and a gift bag. These new members were energized and ready to exercise their strengths, wisdom and knowledge to become a great asset to the PB NAUW Branch. Their main focus is on the community growth, bridging the gap and the development of the branch.

The mission of the National Association of University Women is to serve women, youth and the disadvantaged in our communities and in developing countries by addressing educational issues, advancing the status of women’s issues, and strategically partnering with allied organization.

This induction ceremony gave lifetime memories to NAUW members and their daughters, which included Liddell and daughter, Cooley; Brentley and daughter, Moore; Sharon Nicholson and daughter, Pilcher; and Virginia Ford-Barner and daughter, Ford. These daughters will work besides their mothers and carry on the torch of NAUW.
