Pine Bluff Art League to hear program on face painting

Pine Bluff artist, Christie Baugh, will be the guest speaker for the meeting of the Pine Bluff Art League to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3 in the A&B meeting room at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center, 211 W. Third Ave. Attendees are asked to use the Third Avenue entrance.

Baugh, a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a bachelor of science in visual arts, will present a program on “The Art of Face Painting.” There will be light refreshments and a business meeting after the program.

The studio gift shop has been selling several items for the annual fundraiser. There are still many purses, totes, tiles, dominoes and cards for sale, which are all hand-painted by members of the league.

Members planning to enter the annual juried show at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas are encouraged to get their paintings ready. Delivery date is Monday, Aug. 4 to the A&B Room at the Reynolds Building.

There will be a pastel workshop with Shirley Anderson on Aug. 28 in the A&B Room. A sign-up sheet will be at the meeting. The cost to attend the workshop is $60.

These meetings are free and open to the public. Anyone interested in more information about the program, gift shop hours, workshops or becoming a member of the art league may contact Inis Ray, president, by email at greenback71603@yahoo.com; or by phone at 870-536-3354 or 870-718-4726.
