Mary Debro of Pine Bluff recently celebrated her 101st birthday.
Debro was born Dec. 5. 1912, a daughter of the late Hubbard and Elizbeth Banks. She is the fourth of seven children and is the only survivor. She married Tommy Debro in 1930 and to that union two children were born, Mazie Hunt Tyre and William Debro. She retired from the truck stop cafe on University Drive as a cook in 1974.
Debro currently resides in the same home she has lived in since the early 1940s and attends First Baptist Church Dew Drop. She is the matriarch of five generations with 22 grandchildren — one preceded her in death, the late Sonya Hunt Hall — and 18 great-grandchildren.
