Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. to celebrate Founders’ Day

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. is celebrating 103 years and counting. The Arkansas Caucus of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity will celebrate Founders’ Day on Saturday and Sunday.

The Arkansas brothers will convene at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church, 1201 Catalpa St. On this day, the brothers will continue to plot courses of action to ensure continued excellence that have placed them in the White House, corporate board rooms and a myriad of partnerships, where they have opportunities to raise the bar and sit at tables where major decisions are made with worldwide impact.

On Sunday at 2:30 p.m., a statewide commemorative celebration will be held at St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church. Andre Early, former director of undergraduate and university affairs of Kappa Alpha Psi Inc., will be the featured speaker. Special recognition will be given to all members with 50 or more years of membership in the fraternity. All Greek organizations of African American origin will also be recognized.

Founded on Jan. 5, 1911, at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., the fraternity continues to focus on achievement in all fields of human endeavor.
