Jefferson County Democratic Women will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Holiday Inn Express at The Pines mall.
The guest speaker will be Karen Sealy Garcia, Democratic candidate for state treasurer. Garcia is from Hot Springs and is a licensed certified public accountant. She majored in accounting as an undergraduate and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration from Henderson State University. She has 30 years managerial and supervisor experience managing a multi-million dollar budget for a Fortune 100 Company as well as for-profit and non-profit businesses.
The other speaker will be James Lee Witt, candidate for U.S. Congress representative. Witt is a native of Paris, Ark., and grew up in Dardanelle. He has been a county judge and was director of Arkansas Office of Emergency Services before he served as the director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) during the Clinton presidential administration.
After presentations, the speakers will answer questions. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend and participate.
