Fond memories highlight WHHS All-Classmates Reunion

White Hall High School recently held its 16th annual All-Classmates Reunion.

The weekend began with a meal at the Lighthouse Restaurant with approximately 22 people attending.

The following Saturday, people began arriving at the WHHS cafeteria at 8 a.m. They were greeted by Leon and Gladys O’Brien Clark, and Ann Rinehart Musgrove, with hugs, name tags, and picture-taking.

Door prizes consisted of cooler bags and White Hall Bulldog lapel pins. Visitation and potluck continued until 3 p.m., at which time, a short program presented, by Betty Brisco Forrest and Ann Musgrove, was held. The program was to honor William Henry, Gladys Clark and Musgrove for the work they have performed on many reunions.

There were three binders with obituaries and pictures of all known deceased class members and burning candles. In the past year, 40 former classmates died. Several classes decorated tables with pictures, annuals and many memories.

Sheri Musgrove McBride, 1976 graduate, announced this year’s special drawing for gifts. Ima Mae Lemons White, class of 1939, was the oldest classmate attending and was presented with a floral arrangement donated by The Petal Shoppe. There was a drawing for a year’s subscription to the White Hall Journal presented to four classmates.

The class of 1964 will be the program honorees during next year’s reunion.

Buddy Skipworth, class of 1954, led the group in the blessing and the evening meal, catered by Buckley Denton, class of 1980, was served. The meal consisted of catfish, fried shrimp, chicken, hush puppies, coleslaw, fries, ice tea and all the condiments.
