Fashion show set for April 12 at Convention Center

The sixth annual Easter Fashion Parade, Luncheon and Silent Auction will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

This year’s theme is “Orbiting Fashion with the Next Generation.”

Sponsored by the Jefferson County Single Parent Scholarship Board, the event will include a luncheon, silent auction, vendors and door prizes. Guests can also have photos taken with the Easter Bunny.

“It’s going to be an all children’s show this year and it’s going to be a blast,” said JCSPS board vice-chairman Alamae Harris. “Get ready for the ride. We are going on a fashion journey out of this world!”

The style show will feature children’s clothing for ages 3-19 from area retailers as well as original designs by NaTashia Riley of Texarkana. Originally from Gould, Riley says she has always had a “passion for fashion.”

The event will include shopping, food, a style show, and awarding of the Single Parent scholarships for the spring semester. Attendees can expect to see the latest in dresses, tops, bottoms, outerwear and accessories. Jewelry, purses, gift baskets, housewares and more will go to the highest bidders during the silent auction.

Proceeds from the Fashion Parade and Silent Auction will go to support the Jefferson County Single Parent Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $10 for children ages 5-12 and $20 for ages 13 and up. For ticket information, call 870-536-2074.

The mission of the Jefferson County Single Parent Scholarship fund is to enable single parents to attain self-sufficiency through post-secondary education.
