The Jefferson County Cooperative Extension Service and the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission will conduct a Brucellosis (Bang’s) vaccination clinic on Nov. 25.
Heifer calves, 4 to 12 months of age, may be vaccinated. Livestock handling facilities must be adequate to handle the calves that will be run through the chute. All calves must be penned and ready for vaccination when the team arrives. Participants are asked to be available up to an hour early or an hour late depending on conditions and number of calves vaccinated at a previous stop.
To schedule a vaccination, call Anthony Whittington, county Extension agent-agriculture, at 870-534-1033 by Nov. 21. Interested individuals are asked to provide a phone number where they can be reached to provide an approximate scheduled time.
