During the business meeting of the DuBocage American Business Women’s Association held recently at the Pine Bluff Country Club, the pledge of allegiance was led by Christy Bush with the invocation led by Judy Kittler.
The scholarship chairman, Rana McClain, read letters from the chapter’s two scholarship recipients, Elizabeth Davenport and Chapel Jones. Both girls are in good standing with their grades and thanked the chapter for their support and requested to continue their scholarships.
President Joyce Ann Green appointed Diane Wilson, Kelly Ruggeri and Hellen Kenneedy to the audit committee.
Kay Faver presented six applicants for the scholarship to Southeast Arkansas College in honor of deceased member, Elaine Roan. Mandie Haynes was chosen to receive the scholarship. Haynes is married with two children and attends SEARK. She is determined to graduate with a bachelor’s degree and would like to own her own business one day.
In other business, Green installed the new slate of officers for the coming year — president, Bush; vice president, Judy Conn; treasurer, Donna Kriner; and recording and corresponding secretary, Suzanne Archer. Conn was not present and will be installed at the next meeting. Green, outgoing president, presented the presidential gavel to Bush.
Door prizes were won by Patsy Stone, Faver and Archer. The birthday gift was won by Dewanna Walters. Kriner won the dollar pot and donated it back to the chapter.
Pam Lohnes led the benediction.
