Pine Bluff Christian Women’s Connection will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Pine Bluff Country Club.
The Stonecroft speakers will be Neil and Jody Curran of Dallas. Their subject will be “Opposites Attract,” a humorous look at marriage and their own journey through life. Across the country when Jody and Neil speak, a special invitation is for husbands and wives as well as the usual audience from Christian Women’s Connection. Pine Bluff Christian Women’s Connection invites husbands to attend their presentation.
Jody was born and raised in New Orleans. She has been a French Quarter tour guide for the Louisiana State Museum, a commercial real estate broker and an amateur genealogist.
Neil is a native of Holyoke, Mass., and a graduate of Louisiana State University where he and Jody first met. He’s been a dishwasher in Hyannis, a crew member on a 190-foot windjammer sailing ship, a high school teacher in the Bahamas, an award-winning drama critic in New Orleans and a house painter in Dallas. He has been an advertising and marketing executive for more than 25 years. As a political media consultant he has helped win more than 100 elections.
Neil was elected to his party’s State Central Committee in Louisiana. He was also vice president of the Alliance for Good Government and he’s been a board member of several civic organizations. He has authored numerous magazine articles, books and plays as a freelance writer.
The couple’s story was featured in Stonecroft’s Progress Magazine. They have spoken to numerous groups around the country and overseas in Italy, Kenya, Tanzania and China. Neil and Jody have two adult children and six grandchildren.
