Camden Road EHC members focus on positive thinking

The recent meeting of the Camden Road Extension Homemakers was held at Whiteville Missionary Baptist Church with 11 members in attendance.

Mary Ann Kizer, the Jefferson County adviser, was a surprise guest. The hostesses for the meeting were Judy Cox and Patsy Wallace. Several handy hints were given. Inspiration was by Wanda Felts.

“How do you think positive?” was the theme of the program. The program also included ways to recognize “Stinkin’ Thinkin,’” which includes using words such as “I always mess up”; “I never get a break”; exaggerating events and always expecting the worst outcome. Ways given to get rid of “stinkin thinkin” include remembering that no one is perfect and to count your blessings, skills and strengths.

The group also discussed several upcoming workshops, including a bird feeder workshop on Feb. 27. The club will also play Bingo on Thursday.
