Calendar of Events


This is a listing of activities of interest to residents of Southeast Arkansas. Anyone who would like to submit entries for consideration may do so in writing to the Entertainment Calendar, P.O. Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.

2 — The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Vesper Choir will present its annual spring concert at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts Building. The concert is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.

3 — The New Community Theatre, 207 W. Second Ave., will present the Silly Sully Show during its Children’s Theatre at 11 a.m. The show will feature Larry Sullivan and Julie Vest. For ticket information, call 870-535-2646 or visit the website at pbcommunitytheatre.org.

3 — For A Moment Like This Special Events will host its seventh annual Christian Debutante Promenade & Cotillion at 6 p.m. in the Jefferson Ballroom of the Ramada Plaza Hotel. The event is open to the public. Business casual to semi-formal dress is required.

9-10 — The New Community Theatre, 207 W. Second Ave., will present “George Burns and Friends” at 7:30 p.m., starring Peter Salzer and Lynn Roberts. For ticket information, call 870-535-2646 or visit the website at pbcommunitytheatre.org.

16 — The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will sponsor a spring fundraiser and membership drive from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 6501 S. Hazel St. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Linda Minyard at 870-879-5867.

16-17 — The New Community Theatre, 207 W. Second Ave., will present “The 4 Fabs” at 7:30 p.m. It’s Beatlemania coming to Pine Bluff. For ticket information, call 870-535-2646 or visit the website at pbcommunitytheatre.org.

24 — The city of Sherrill will host the third annual reunion and celebration at the fire station in downtown Sherrill from noon to 7 p.m. The event will include a vintage car show, a kiddie carnival with games, face painting, arts and crafts, a gospel fest, food vendors and entertainment for the entire family.
