27 — This year’s Enchanted Land of Lights & Legends is now open in Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Regional Park. The light display will be open from 6-9 nightly through Dec. 31. 14-20 — The Interested Citizens for Voter Registration Inc. KingFest executive committee has announced the 30th annual KingFest celebration for Pine Bluff and Jefferson County in honor of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. Mayor Debe Hollingsworth and Arkansas State Rep. Tracy L. Steele, founder of The Stand Foundation and former executive director of the Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission, are keynote speakers. Hollingsworth will kick off the KingFest celebration at a joint meeting of the Downtown Pine Bluff and West Pine Bluff Rotary Clubs at noon Jan. 14. The public is invited to attend.
16 — To celebrate the opening of “Small Works on Paper,” an annual touring visual art exhibition coordinated by the Arkansas Arts Council, the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., will host a public reception from 5-7 p.m. The reception is free and will include talks by the artists. Regular hours for the exhibition are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free. The exhibit will be on display at the A&S Center Jan. 9-30.
24-25 — Old Town Theatre will present a tribute to Liza Minnelli and Judy Garland at the New Community Theatre, 207 W. Second Ave. For ticket information call 870-535-2646.
25 — The Pine Bluff Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will present Jabberwock 2014, a talent and variety show, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pine Bluff Convention Center Auditorium. Auditions will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 8 and Jan. 14 at the Delta Life Development Center, 715 Barraque St. Those who wish to participate must attend one audition. Competition is limited to middle/junior high school, high school and college students. Participants must bring audition music and performance attire. Talent should not exceed four minutes.
