Calendar of Events


This is a listing of activities of interest to residents of Southeast Arkansas. Anyone who would like to submit entries for consideration may do so in writing to the Entertainment Calendar, P.O. Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.

25-27 — “The Emperor’s New Clothes” is being presented by the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas. Ticket prices range from $13 to $17 and $5 for students. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. April 25-26 and at 2 p.m. April 27. For more information, call 870-536-3375 or email info@artssciencecenter.org. 26 — The Harbor City Festival and Cook-off will return to Saracen Landing. Cook teams can compete in the gumbo competition and/or catfish cook-off. A KidsZone, which will open at 10 a.m., will feature inflatable amusements, crafts, football/basketball toss and other activities. Admission is $5 for adults. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free. 26 — The women of Grace Episcopal Church, 4101 S. Hazel St., will host their 30th annual English Tea and Sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $10 in advance or at the door. Tickets may be purchased from any member of Grace Episcopal Churchwomen, from the church office, or by calling 870-535-3852. Tickets may also be used to purchase takeout boxed lunches called “tea toters” that contain an assortment of the menu items.

29-May 2 —The Arkansas Arts Center Artmobile will roll into Pine Bluff on April 29 and will remain at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 S. Main St., until May 2. Hours for the Artmobile will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 29-30, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. May 1, and from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. May 2. 16 — The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will sponsor a spring fundraiser and membership drive from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 6501 S. Hazel St. Tickets are $15 and must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Linda Minyard at 870-879-5867.
