This is a listing of activities of interest to residents of Southeast Arkansas. Anyone who would like to submit entries for consideration may do so in writing to the Entertainment Calendar, P.O. Box 6469, Pine Bluff, Ark., 71611. Since all activities are subject to change, it would be wise to confirm the activity with the sponsoring organization.

July

11 — John “Potellit” Proctor will release his debut CD entitled, “Thus Says Potellit”, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lil’ Steakhouse, 2221 S. Olive St. Ticket are $10 each. To purchase tickets, call 870-413-1904.

11-12 — Craig Diamond, magician, will be live on stage at the New Community Theatre, 207 W. Second Ave. Showtime each day is 7:30 p.m. To order tickets visit the website www.communitytheatre.org or call 870-535-2646. The box office opens at 5 p.m. on the day of the performances. Ticket prices are $35 for rear orchestra and $40 for premier orchestra seating.

12 — Summer fun will continue at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 S. Main St., with the free second Saturday Family FunDay from 1 to 3 p.m. Educator Alexandra Pearson will conduct the same experiments Jimmy Fallon exploded on the Tonight Show.

12-13 — Shooters from the region will meet at the archery range of Pine Bluff Bowhunters Inc. to compete in 13 divisions during the 34th annual Ben Pearson Memorial Tournament. Thousands of dollars in door prizes, as well as prizes for the winners of several different novelty shoots, will be handed out. Entry fees are $40 Pro Division; $20, Adult Division; $10, Youth Division. Excluding pro competitors, there is a maximum of $50 for immediate family members. 17-19 — The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 S. Main St., will present its summer musical, “Fame, Jr.”, on July 17-19 at 7:30 p.m. and July 20 at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for the musical at www.asc701.org or by calling 870-536-3375. Student tickets are only $5 each and groups of 10 or more are also discounted to the $5 per ticket rate.

18-19 — Bastille, master mentalist and hynotist, will present a show at the New Community Theatre, 207 W. 1-2 — The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 S. Main St., will combine tinkering and theater to offer another creative opportunity, “TinkerFest Meets TheaterFest,” from 1 to 4 p.m.
