The Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson County Board recently attended a strategic planning session led by Robin Schmidt, director of organizational development for the Boys and Girls Club of America.
The workshop was held at the First United Methodist Church and hosted by the Rev David Fleming.
Plans for the next five years were discussed. The meeting involved the purpose of the Boys & Girls Club that is basically to provide an avenue for youth to become outstanding citizens, to provide a positive pathway for them to be successful and to help children to achieve their potential and dreams.
Each board member was asked to commit to the purposes of the Boys & Girls Club and to become a partner and planner. Five major goals were discussed — Increase impact, measure outcomes consistently, grow the organization, increase organization potential and build our brand and fundraising capacity.
A discussion of these goals will be held at the next Boys & Girls Board meeting in September.
