Bess Jenkins Club learns how to refresh homes at recent meeting

The Bess Jenkins Club met recently in the Oak Room of the Pine Bluff Country Club. Hostesses for this meeting were Barbara Tracy, JoAnn Clemmons, Connie French and Pat Crain.

Continuing the yearlong theme of study, “Refresh, Renew, Repurpose, Reclaim, A New You”, program chairman, Judy Barrett, introduced the guest speaker, Dixie Patillo, interior designer at Shepherd II. Patillo showed many ways to refresh homes by simply rearranging tabletop displays and adding an accent piece, framing treasured cards and jewelry, adding monogrammed pillows, and including a living plant.

Ann Thompson was the winner of the door prize. Patillo chose CASA as the recipient of an honorarium given by the club.

A business meeting followed with Sandy Poore, president, presiding. Under new business, it was proposed that the club make a gift of $300 to the Jenkins Memorial Center. This would be over and above the club’s yearly donation in honor of Bess Jenkins. The motion passed unanimously. The business meeting was followed by fellowship and dessert.
