The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, 701 Main St., will offer its photography I class with Eric Maynard beginning Jan. 16 and each Thursday through Feb. 20 from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.
This photography I class is an introductory class that will teach students about the features and functions of their cameras, what the various settings are and how to use them. Students will also go over portrait techniques and landscape photography while learning how and why to control aperture and shutter speeds.
The cost of the class is $85 for members and $120 for non-members. The fee is payable at time of registration.
The center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1-4 p.m. Saturday, and is closed on Sunday. Support for ASC is provided in part by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Hands-on science exhibits are offered through the center’s partnership with Arkansas Discovery Network, a consortium of seven museums in Arkansas funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.
