ABATE District 20 sets meeting, announces upcoming events


The ABATE District 20 monthly meeting will be held Sunday at the Delta Rivers Nature Center. The 2 p.m. program will be in the multipurpose room (inside the main building) with a special speaker and DVD presentation of “Ride like a Pro”.

The board of directors will meet at 1:30 p.m., followed by the group at 2 p.m.

Riders who want to enter the 2014 Mileage Challenge should bring the $10 entry fee and proof of mileage on their motorcycle (photo of odometer with date). The Riders Challenge is a contest to see who rides the most miles during 2014. The contest will end in December. Jerry Pye, the new road captain, will be coordinating this contest.

Other April events will include ABATE District 20 Dinner Ride on April 11; Bike Night at Beaucoups Cajun Cafe on April 17; StarDaze in Star City on April 19; and Kid Fest in White Hall on April 26.

May is Motorcycle Awareness Month. The ABATE Freedom Rally will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. May 4 at the State Capitol at Little Rock. Participants are also urged to sign up now for the ABATE Arkansas Circle the State Ride, which will be held June 7-8.

All motorcyclists are invited to attend.
