Jefferson County’s agribusiness and farming industries will be celebrated Thursday as the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce sponsors its 61st Annual Farmers Appreciation Fish Fry.
The county’s Farm Family of the Year — the Dale Davis Family — will be the honored guests.
The event will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Hestand Stadium. Gates to the arena will open at 5 p.m. and catfish dinners, catered by King Kat, will be served from 5:30-7. More than 50 Chamber volunteers expect to serve more than 900 dinners. Carry-out meals will be available or ticket holders can dine at the stadium.
The annual fish fry is one of the Chamber’s most popular events and is a means of thanking area farmers for their major impact on the economy of Jefferson County.
Richard Metcalf of Relyance Bank is the fish fry event chairman. Team captains are Joel Cheatham, Simmons First National Bank; Roy Ferrell, Simmons First National Bank; LuAnn Hensley, Central Moloney Inc.; Teresa McMillan, Planters Cotton Oil Mill Inc.; and Rick Pierce, Simmons First National Bank.
Tickets for the dinner are $15 per person and may be purchased at the Chamber office at 510 Main St., or at the gate that evening.
