Bob and Lenora Porter to observe 50th wedding anniversary

Porter: Robert (Bob) and Lenora Gay Porter met in Salina, Kan., in 1961 and their courtship began soon after. Robert enlisted in the United States Army in January 1964, and after basic training was stationed at Ft. Gordon, Ga. Lenora’s parents drove her to Georgia so they could be married and begin their journey through life together.

Donald and Joanne Borland to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Borland: STAR CITY — Rev. Donald and Joanne (Harris) Borland will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and program hosted by their children on June 14, 2014, at 2 p.m., at the Star City Civic Center in Star City, Ark. All friends and family are invited to attend. No gifts, please, only your presence, but if you have a favorite picture of or story about the couple, please bring that to share.

Donnie and Beverly Crossett celebrate 60 years of marriage

Crossett Donnie and Beverly Crossett will celebrate their 60th anniversary Aug. 2. They were married at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. They are the parents of Jane Crossett Bruns, the late Scott Crossett and the late Harry Crossett. There will be an open house Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Crossett home on Lowman Road. This will be hosted by Jane and her husband, Jeff Bruns, and their grandchildren, Scott, Kathryn and Robert Bruns, Rebecca Stubblefield, Sarah and Elizabeth Crossett. Friends and family are invited to drop by from 2-4 p.m. No gifts please.

Edwin and Mary Doggett celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Doggett WHITE HALL — Edwin and Mary Doggett of White Hall celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married July 14, 1962, at Hermitage Methodist Church. She is the former Mary Brooks and is a retired teacher. Ed is retired from Tom Fitts Inc. They are the parents of David Doggett of White Hall, John Doggett of Benton, and Doug Doggett of Jonesboro. The couple have seven grandchildren.

Gerald and Sue Minton to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Minton Gerald and Sue (Hollis) Minton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Gerald and Sue were married on July 14, 1962, at Dew Drop United Pentecostal Church in Pine Bluff. After 20 years, Sue retired from working at NCTR in September 2010. Gerald was in the military from 1966-1968. He retired in 2004 from his construction and roofing business. Gerald and Sue were blessed with one son, Tim; a daughter-in-law, Stephanie; and two wonderful grandsons, Clayton and Jayce. The celebration will be at White Hall United Pentecostal Church, 7745 Sheridan Road, White Hall, in the Family Life Center, from 2-4 p.m. The couple requests no gifts. Your presence is our gift.

Benny and Billie Wilson to celebrate 60th anniversary

Wilson The 60th anniversary celebration for Benny Jack and Billie Sue Wilson will be held on July 21 from 2-4 p.m. at Good-Faith Carr United Methodist Church. They were married July 18, 1952, at Natchez, Miss. Family and friends are welcome to the reception, hosted by their children, Rick (Cam) Wilson and Darlene (Mike) Stephenson, both of Monticello, Steve (Sheila) Wilson of Mansfield, La., and Jackie (Mark) Garner of Grapevine; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandsons.

Julius and Mildred Carter celebrate 50 years of marriage

Carter DUMAS — Julius and Mildred Logan Carter of Dumas will observe their 50th wedding anniversary today. They were married July 8, 1962, at Pine Bluff. Julius pastors Calvary Baptist Church at Dumas. They have three sons, Paul of Frierson, La., David of Dumas and Steven of Benton; and nine grandchildren. The family will celebrate at a restaurant on a later date.

Homer and Lela Reed to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Reed WOODLAWN — Homer Allen and Lela (Case) Reed will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 8. A reception will be held Sunday, July 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Center Baptist Church. The reception will be hosted by their children, Greg and Cindy Reed and Tracy Reed and grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited. The couple requests no gifts, please.
