Bob and Lenora Porter to observe 50th wedding anniversary

Porter: Robert (Bob) and Lenora Gay Porter met in Salina, Kan., in 1961 and their courtship began soon after. Robert enlisted in the United States Army in January 1964, and after basic training was stationed at Ft. Gordon, Ga. Lenora’s parents drove her to Georgia so they could be married and begin their journey through life together.

Donald and Joanne Borland to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Borland: STAR CITY — Rev. Donald and Joanne (Harris) Borland will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception and program hosted by their children on June 14, 2014, at 2 p.m., at the Star City Civic Center in Star City, Ark. Donnie and Charlotte Phillips celebrate 50th anniversary

Phillips Mr. and Mrs. Donnie M. Phillips of Watson Chapel celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family during a July trip to the beach at Destin, Fla. Donnie Phillips married the former Charlotte Ann Allbritton on Nov. 2, 1962, at the Matthews Memorial Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. Mr. Phillips retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad (Union Pacific) after working there for 40 years. Charlotte retired from Wal-Mart Pharmacy after more than 20 years of service. They are the parents of daughters, Cathy Knowles of Arnett, Okla., and Donna Cox of Jacksonville, Ark. They are the grandparents of Autumn Knowles, Allie Knowles and Tyler Cox. Arlie and Barbara Langrell to celebrate 50th anniversary

Langrell Arlie and Barbara Langrell will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception, hosted by their nephews and nieces, Ed and Lori Jones, and Marty and Sherry Staton, on Sept. 22 at Central Baptist Church EAB, 6107 Dollarway Road, from 2-4 p.m. The couple was married Sept. 21, 1962, at the home of Charles and Virginia Poore by Clyde Cutrell. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate. The couple requests no gifts please.

Creed and Irma Nix celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Nix Mr. and Mrs. Creed C. Nix Jr. of Watson Chapel celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family recently at their home, hosted by daughters, Carol Moore of Pine Bluff and Cheryl Layson of Little Rock. They are also the parents of another daughter, the late Sheila Smith. Mr. Nix married the former Irma Jean Vanlandingham of Sheridan Aug. 17, 1952. Mr. Nix worked at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, retiring from International Paper Co. Mrs. Nix is a homemaker. They are the grandparents of eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Lee Andrew and Lueretha Mixon celebrate 50 years of marriage

Mixon Lee Andrew and Lueretha Mixon of Pine Bluff were married Aug. 9, 1962. They will celebrate 50 years of love Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at 4 p.m., at First Trinity Church of God in Christ, hosted by their children, Terry J. Rowden, Katherine Candler, Deborah Thomas, Shirley Higgins and Karen Rodgers. Lueretha Tinsley Mixon retired from Trinity Village Retirement Home after 33 years of service. Lee Andrew Mixon Jr. retired after over 40 years of truck driving. Friends and family are invited. No gifts requested.
